Midsummer Nights Dream

I haven't written a post on this blog in a while. I was just reading my old posts from a while ago. The last post I wrote on this was about 1 year ago when I did The Tempest in summer camp. I just did the summer Shakespeare of this year: A Midsummer Nights Dream. I played Puck, Oberon's sprite. In my opinion if it weren't for Puck's misunderstandings the play would be much simpler and a whole lot shorter. Not only that but the role was split. It was me and a very good friend of mine playing Puck and we were on the stage at the same time. Some of our lines were split and some we just said at the same time, which added a whole other aspect of craziness and confusion to the character.
To top it off we teased our hair up and sprayed it all sorts of wacky colors!

Like last year my dad made the sets. Here's a picture of the stage.

So thats Midsummer Night's Dream!

sad news

We got another dog a while ago. Her name was daisy. She was so sweet and a big love dove! At first every thing seemed fine it looked like it was really going to work out. She loved Gatsby (or other dog) and was friendly to other dogs to. But then after about three months she started to get aggressive with other dogs. She was still a love dove with people but sometimes she randomly just attacked a dog. Eventually she started attacking every dog that came to are house. It got to be to much and decided the best thing to do was to find a new home for here. It was heart braking for me. I was very attached to her I was like her mother. But the rescue network that we got her from has a rule that if you get a dog from them and it doesn't work out you have to return it to them so it doesn't go to the pound. she's there now and I know she's safe. But the good news is mommy says that in the spring we can foster a little dog! And if it works out maybe we can get one!

Guess what! Yesterday mommy and I went to Wilson Park to ride bikes. First we rode on the path that goes to the camping area. The gate to block the cars from coming wasn't there any more. We guessed that that was for the campers. A little bit further we got to the field. We rolled down the little hill a few times and then moved on. When we got to the hill I had to get off my bike and push it because it's too steep for me. Once we got to the top of the hill there's a fork in the road. We decided to go to the right. We rode down a little hill and up a big one. When we got to the top of the hill there was a house, and there were two people in front with a cat. One of them waved at me. Then we moved on. We went up and down a few little hills and then finally to our surprise we came out back where we drive in right in front of the booth. So we decided to go back to the parking lot from there. Once we got back to the parking lot we went back to the camping area. Just as we got to the top of the hill I got thirsty so we had to go back to the car to get the water. When we got back to the car and I had my water we found a really cool mushroom. It looked like a smurf lived in it. It was orange and had little white bumps on it. Then we decided to go sit on a bench by the water. That's when we saw the turtle. It was on the sand digging a hole with its hind legs. It had eighteen sections on its shell. (Mommy counted them.) The brim of its shell was yellow. It had red on its legs and a little bit on its head. We figured out that it was digging a nest. It would scoop some sand up with one of its legs and pour it out behind the hole, then do the same thing with the other leg. The turtle did this for 20 minutes, and then it laid its eggs. It laid nine eggs. They were white, and some of them had an orange tint. Then we had to go home. When we got home I looked on the computer and figured out it was a painted turtle. I also figured out how long it took for baby turtles to hatch. It said about 2 months and a week. So when it's time we will go and try to see them.
The End.

Gatsby

We got a dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His name is gatsby. He's so cute! He's a lab mixed with some sort of long, short hound. He's very affectionate. I really love cuddling with him. He loves to cuddle and to be petted. There's a chair in our house that he loves, and he just jumps up onto it and sits in it for hours. We call it the Gatsby chair. Whenever we go out and leave him at home he'll bark and bark and bark and scrape at the window. But when we get back he'll be so excited and jump up on us and make us pet him and rub his belly, and he loves it.

He loves to play, especially fetch. There's one toy in particular that he loves to play fetch with. It's a little blue rubber toy, and it's shaped like a dinosaur with no head. It bounces so he likes to try to push it down with his paw. He also loves tug-of-war. He's really strong. He'll pull and pull and pull until you have to let go.

I did a nose print of him where we put green food coloring on his nose, and we put a piece of paper on his nose. We had to do it a couple of times before I got a good one that wasn't smudged.

We're planning on getting another dog as a playmate for Gatsby because he loves to play with other dogs. The place where we got Gatsby from is a place where they go out to Georgia and take dogs from high-kill shelters there and bring them to stay in foster families in New York. We are going to get another dog from them, but we don't know what one yet. We asked about a dog named Snoopy, but they said he got along with other girl dogs, but not really with other boy dogs. So we might get a puppy from them because they have these tiny, tiny puppies. But we're not sure yet. And also DaeDae, my pretend big sister, is coming to stay with us for two months, and she has a dog.

I love Gatsby, and we're having a lot of fun with him. It's fun having a dog.

Making Clouds and Rain

Yesterday me and my mom did a science experiment where we made rain and rain clouds. We had two pots. One had ice in it so that it was cold. (We also put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.) And the other one had boiling water in it. First we made a few rainclouds by putting the pot with ice in it over the pot with the boiling water in it and waited a little bit. And how the clouds were made was that the water would turn into water vapor and it would rise up to the coldness and then in the coldness it would huddle together because it was cold and into big blobs, and that was a cloud. And you can see the clouds below. How we made the rain was that when the clouds were up there they were so cold that they would turn back into water, and little drops of water would come down, and that was the rain. Here is a picture of the pot with the ice in it.
And here is the pot with the water in it.
